Your LFA questions answered

Do you have to be a good football player to enrol on a course?

No. Courses are for boys & girls aged 5 - 14 years regardless of ability and previous playing experience.

How do you group players?

We group players by age. If your child wishes to be in the same group as a friend we can normally accommodate their request.

What time can I drop my child off, and what time can I collect?

Children can be dropped off anytime between 8:00am - 10:00am. Pick-up times are between 3:00pm - 6:00pm. Children must be collected no later than 6:00pm.

My child is attending on their own. Will they be ok?

Yes. The majority of children attend without friends or family. Initial sessions are focused on making new friends that help integrate children. LFA courses are a great place to make new friends, and catch up with old ones!

What kit does my child need to bring to the LFA?

Children require football kit or tracksuit. No jeans or shoes. Children also require soft ground football boots and shin pads.

Does the LFA provide lunch for players?

No. Children attending the LFA will require a packed lunch and water bottle. Please note that glass bottles are strictly prohibited. We also ask that children do not bring fizzy drinks.

What does a typical day at the LFA involve?

Morning sessions consist of a warm-up and fun practices that improve your child's technical ability (passing, shooting, dribbling, etc). Regular drink breaks are taken throughout the day.

Afternoon sessions consist of small sided games (5-7 children per team) leading up to final matches staged on Friday afternoon. The week finishes with a trophy presentation where all children receive an award in recognition of their effort and new skills learnt. Parents and siblings are invited to attend the presentation - out very own Oscars award ceremony!

About Us

The London Football Academy is a professional coaching organisation, specialising in the coaching of boys and girls aged 5 – 14 years. We are committed to delivering innovative courses that will excite and inspire your child.

We believe that children participating in sport must do so in a safe and secure environment.

The LFA operate a strict child protection policy. All coaches are FA qualified, CRB checked, and possess up to date FA credited Child Protection and Emergency Aid certificates. We aim to have a player-to-coach ratio of 16:1 as recommended by the English FA.

The LFA was founded by Martin Egan in response to fellow parents' need for their children to participate more actively in sport.

With obesity rapidly becoming the number one cause of disease and ill-health, the need for children to remain active and energetic has never been greater.

Interest in sport at a young age has also shown to reduce incidences of crime, drugs and vandalism. Sport is a major catalyst in driving young people away from criminal activities.

The LFA is therefore totally committed to developing children as both players and individuals.

Working closely with local Government and primary schools, the LFA deliver safe and fun coaching sessions.

We have successfully run after-school clubs and holiday soccer schools for eight years, and now coach over 1,000 children every week. We are extremely proud of our links with the local community and football clubs.

Unlike many other coaching companies, the LFA is run on a full-time professional basis. We offer a winning blend of fun and discipline and bring specialist knowledge, creativity and experience to deliver courses your child will love – or your money back!
